Solidarity Economics Watch Party

What could our economy look like if it were built around mutuality, community care, collaboration, and shared prosperity?

HUṠWEJ is part of the newly formed North State Inclusive Economic Development Collective, a regional collaboration of community-based organizations working to expand economic opportunity for people and communities who have historically and persistently been excluded from economic and political power.

On Monday, August 17 from 3–5 PM, the Collective is bringing communities across Northern California together for a conversation inspired by Solidarity Economics: Why Mutuality and Movements Matter, featuring authors Chris Benner and Manuel Pastor.

While the conversation will be webcast across the region, HUṠWEJ will be hosting a local watch party at ‘UBA SEO in Nevada City, and we’d love to have you join us.

Together, we’ll explore a different way of thinking about economic development that recognizes community well-being, environmental stewardship, collaboration, and collective power as essential parts of a thriving economy.

If you’re interested in community-led economic development, building more equitable local economies, or simply imagining what prosperity could look like when it includes all of us, come be part of the conversation.
